FISHING AND HUNTING

Birds and big game abound in the area.  Hunting enthusiasts will find an abundance of upland game birds, water fowl, whitetail deer, mule deer, elk and antelope.  For more information with regards to hunting in this area the Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks has a very informative site.

RESER RESERVOIR - Home of Big Bass
Probably the best large-mouth Bass fishery in the area, with fish up to five pounds taken. A real bonus is the large trout that also roam this water. Nice catches of Crappie and Yellow Perch can also be had.
Reser is about 30 surface acres and boating is prohibited. Located approximately 8 miles north of Lohman.

BAILEY RESERVOIR - A friendly KIDS place
This 70 acre reservoir south of Kremlin is a perfect place to take kids fishing, because something is always biting. Healthy populations of hungry Perch and Crappie mixed with an occasional monster Northern Pike, make for a great way to spend a day. Electric motors only for boating.

ROSS RESERVOIR - a Cutthroat haven
Located approximately 20 miles southeast of Havre, this small body of water is a fly fisherman's paradise with Cutthroat up to six pounds willing to take a fly.

FRESNO RESERVOIR - a Walleye hot spot
Only 12 miles west of Havre is one of Montana's top warm water fisheries. Fresno Reservoir is full of one and two pound walleye. Every year a number of seven to ten pound Walleye are caught as well as northern Pike in the 20 pound class. The turn-off west of Havre is well marked. You will discover one of the nicest boat ramps in the state.  Fresno Reservoir, a 25 mile long body of water where you can camp, swim, boat & water-ski. Boats may also be launched at Kremlin Bay Boat Ramp.
The new area developed below the dam is also equipped for handicapped fishing access. The Reservoir was originally developed for irrigation. The Milk River feeds Fresno from runoff from Glacier National Park.

BEAVER CREEK PARK - Mountains in the Prairie
Fishing abounds within this park. Starting with the lower lake, which has a new boat camp, you will find Northern Pike up to 31 pounds, Trout, Walleye, and Perch. This is a no-wake lake and is limited to 10 hp boat motors.
The Upper Lake contains Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout, and Small Mouth Bass. There are no motorized boats allowed. The many miles of creeks also provide excellent fishing.
