FREE THINGS TO DO

There are many things to do and events in the Havre area that you can enjoy for free.

1. View the old Steam Engine and the Jim Hill Fountain at the BNSF Depot.

2. Bird and Wildlife Watch Along the Milk River or Beaver Creek Park.

3. Jog around the Community or enjoy the Walking Track at Patterson Park, Optimist Park, Northern Montana Hospital Park and the new Bill Baltrusch Walking Trail.

4. Visit one of the City’s Parks and Playgrounds.  Great fun for the Kids.

5. Take a Self-Guided Tour through Havre’s Historic Home, Downtown & Railroad Districts.

6. Visit a Library (Havre Hill County and MSU-Northern).

7. See wildflowers blooming in the Spring, Summer and Fall in Beaver Creek Park.

8. Visit the Havre Railroad Museum.

9. Watch Amtrak and BNSF Trains pass through town from the viaduct.

10. Tour the H. Earl Clack Museum.

11. View the Hands Across the Border Statue at the BNSF Depot and other community statues.

12. Take a drive through Beaver Creek Park, coming out at Rocky Boy Reservation.

13. View Lynden Pomeroy Steel Sculptures on MSU-Northern’s Campus and at Stockman Bank.

14. Watch the Sun set from the top of a hill, and the overlook behind the Holiday Village Mall – view Milk River, Badlands, and BNSF Site.

15. Browse through the Community’s Shops.

16. Visit with a Havre “Local.”

17. Take your camera to the Bear Paws and snap some beautiful photos all-year-round.

18. Take a swim at Fresno or cast a line on a summer afternoon.

19. Enjoy one of the city’s 18 community parks.

20. Try your skills at the Skate Board Park.

21. Enjoy the openness of the area while walking the Bill Baltrusch Nature Trail.

22. Watch a summer softball game.

23. Join community folks each Wednesday ( mid-June through mid- August) at 6pm-8pm at Town Square for Sounds of the Square!

24. Enjoy a view of the Bear Paw Mountains from the Hospital fitness park for the kids to play.

25. Ride the North Central Transit Bus to all the fun things to do in Havre.

26. Experience the Northern Lights and the Stars of the “Big Sky Country.”

27. Visit the MSU-Northern  campus library – Museum of the Plains Indians.

28. Visit 1914 Historic Carnegie Library Building; now Old Library Art Gallery.  See Montana from Montana artists. 

29. Enjoy the Parade and Craft Show during Havre Festival Days in September.

30. Partake in the Community Christmas Tree Lighting activities in November at the Town Square.

31. Drive around town and View the Community Christmas Decorations.
