In the 1970’s business store fronts sprang up along 1st Street east and west of the central business district. Many unique shops and eateries can be found here.

Havre ranks 11th for best business climate in Montana’s top 25 municipalities and has the best business friendly attitude for a city of its size, according to as 2012 study completed by Montana’s Policy Institute.
Located on Highway 2 West this experience features 45 businesses that include national chains, regional retail stores, a fitness center, the Clack Museum, personal services and a casual food court area.
Once home to the famous FA Buttrey Department Store is now the collective location for several unique businesses from a candy store to a bakery and much in between.
Not to be forgotten are the many businesses scattered throughout Havre. You will find other retail stores, craft shops and restaurants along 5th Avenue. Also, Walmart is located west of town.
